What is the best way to lose weight?
When deciding to lose weight or go on a diet, remember to keep a positive attitude. It is very important for successful weight loss and weight management. To lose weight permanently, you must make a commitment to gradually adopt a healthier way of life.
The first step would be to eat fewer calories. I do not recommend going on a low calorie diet, they leave you feeling drained and can cause malnutrition. 2 pounds a week is the most weight you can lose safely and still have all the nutrition you need. The key is to burn the calories that your body does not need for regular daily activities. 3,500 calories equal 1 pound, so if you cut back your daily calorie intake by 500 calories you will lose 1 pound a week. The average daily calorie intake should be between 1,500 and 2,500 calories depending on a persons height and weight.
Second, eat smaller more frequent meals. This causes your metabolism to increase which burns more calories. Also, eat slowly. When you eat slowly your stomach has time to tell your brain that it is full, thus, preventing overeating.
Last, get up and be active at least 30 minutes a day. Exercise is even better, it prevents you from losing muscle while you are dieting and it burns calories.
Here are some excellent activities to do that will burn calories and the average calories burned for one hour of that activity:
